Who says sunny or even scorching vintage says average or even mediocre vintage for dry white wines, at least it was without counting on 2022. It was unexpected and yet, the wines are delightful with freshness, aromatic intensity and balance. This vintage is definitely exceptional.
For the reds, it is similar to the whole vineyard and, once again, should go down in history.
Pessac-Léognan blancs

A strikingly intense nose with notes of grapefruit, pineapple, white peaches and white flowers. The palate is fresh, mineral, well balanced and with a beautiful aromatic expression. The finish is decently long.
- Château Carbonnieux 93 – 94/100
Yellow in color with green reflections. A fine, delicate nose, with notes of citrus fruits (lemon, mandarin), white-fleshed fruits (apple, peach) and subtle notes of white flowers. A lively, refined, mineral mouth with a nice freshness, with a decently long finish.
- Domaine de Chevalier 95 – 96/100
A golden yellow color with green highlights. Clean, precise and expressive, the nose offers lovely notes of grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, apple, white peach and slight notes of white flowers. A palate full of freshness, minerality and aromatic intensity. A long and very tense finish.
- Château De Fieuzal 94 – 95/100
A lively and intense nose with notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, white peach, white flowers and slight smoky notes. A lively, fresh, structured and very well balanced palate. Final all in tension, minerality and length.
- Château De France 90 – 92/100
An aromatic nose that reveals notes of citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit), white-fleshed fruits and delicate notes of vanilla. The mouth is structured and well balanced with a slight minerality and a nice freshness. The finish is of a nice length.
- Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 93/100
Clean and expressive, the nose reveals notes of grapefruit, orange, white peach, apple and slight notes of white flowers. A lively, fresh palate with great intensity and very good balance. A mineral finish with good length.

On the palate the wine is fresh, lively, balanced and very well structured. A mineral finish with remarkable length.
- Château La Louvière 92 – 93/100
A clean, precise nose expressing very beautiful notes of citrus fruits (grapefruit, lemon, mandarin) and white flowers. The palate is fresh, balanced and very lively. Mineral end of mouth and of a correct length.
- Château Olivier 93 – 94/100
Lively, clean and expressive, the nose reveals notes of citrus fruits, white peaches and white flowers. On the palate the wine is chiseled and very well balanced. A beautiful aromatic expression, the end of the mouth is fresh, mineral and of a good length.
- Château Pape Clément 96/100
A bright yellow color with green highlights. The nose is clean, precise and very fresh, opening up to remarkable notes of citrus fruits, white-fleshed fruits (apple, white peach, pear) and subtle menthol notes. On the palate it is strikingly lively, fresh and smooth. Structured, balanced and mineral, the finish is delightfully long.

A very good balance between supple tannins and a nice acidity, which brings freshness. A refined finish with a nice length.
- Château Carbonnieux 94 – 95/100
A deep purple robe. On the nose it is an elegant bouquet of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant), chocolate and subtle smoky notes. The mouth is ample, velvety, and of beautiful structure. The tannins are supple and accompanied by a nice tension. A fresh, refined and persistent finish. Very good potential for this Carbonnieux 2022.
- Domaine de Chevalier 97 – 99/100
Deep purple in color. The nose is rich and very elegant with notes of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant, cherry, plums), liquorice, chocolate and fine floral notes. The attack on the palate is strikingly dense, elegant and deep. Perfectly structured, the wine has a remarkable balance between polished tannins and a nice acidity which provides a lot of freshness. The finish is refined and of superb length. One of the greats of the vintage.

A charming and deep nose offering beautiful notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry, spices, flowers and fine smoky notes. The palate is harmonious, deep and well structured. The tannins are round, the acidity is correct which gives a good balance. A fresh finish with a decent length.

The nose is elegant and reveals notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry, spices, tobacco and subtle smoky notes. The palate is dense, structured and refined. A nice balance between tannins and acidity, which brings a nice freshness. A finish of the correct length.
- Château Haut-Bergey 93 – 95/100
A refined and intense nose with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry, liquorice, tobacco, herbs and fine roasted notes. On the palate the wine is dense, deep and very well structured. Soft tannins, correct acidity, there is a nice balance which gives freshness and elegance. The finish is very long.

A finish full of elegance, freshness and persistence.
