These three appellations produce wines with a lot of character, very expressive of their terroir and renowned for their very good value for money.
As in the entire vineyard, 2022 will have seen the birth of wines with great potential, which will be able to be enjoyed young or after a few (long) years of storage in the cellar.
With this kind of vintage it is, more than ever, time to discover or rediscover these appellations with which it is very easy to have fun for very reasonable budgets.
Haut-Médoc
- Château Beaumont 92/100
On the nose, pretty notes of black fruits, spices and fine woody notes are revealed. On the palate the wine is structured, fruity and well balanced between round tannins and correct acidity. The end of the mouth is of a suitable length.
- Château Belgrave 93 – 94/100
Deep and elegant, the nose reveals notes of blackberry, plum, blueberry, liquorice and fine floral notes. The attack on the palate is deep, elegant and well structured. The tannins are supple and accompanied by a nice tension, which gives balance and freshness to the wine. The finish is persistent.
- Château de Camensac 92 – 93/100
Deep purple in color. The nose offers elegant notes of blackberries, plums and chocolate. On the palate the wine is ample, dense and racy. A beautiful structure, the balance is perfect between tannins of a nice flexibility and a very perceptible acidity. An elegant finish with good length.
- Château Cantemerle 94 – 95/100
A deep purple robe. The nose is deep and refined with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, vanilla, flowers and delicate roasted notes. On the palate the wine is racy, dense, correctly structured with a beautiful aromatic depth. The tannins are fine and supported by a beautiful liveliness. The end of the mouth is harmonious, elegant and of a good length.
- Château Citran 91/100
A nose of black fruits (blackberry, blueberry) and spices. A structured mouth, balanced with round tannins and correct acidity. On the finish, the wine is fresh and of acceptable length.
- Château Coufran 92/100
Fruity and of a beautiful intensity, the nose is revealed on notes of black fruits, spices, chocolate and fine herbaceous notes. On the palate the wine is correctly structured with a nice balance between round tannins and a nice tension. Of correct length at the end of the mouth.
- Château La Lagune 94 – 95/100
A deep purple robe. The nose offers elegant notes of blueberries, cassis, blackberries, black cherry, liquorice and flowers. In the mouth it is refined, deep and of a superb structure. A perfect balance, the tannins are remarkably supple and are accompanied by a nice tension. A fresh, elegant finish with sublime persistence. A splendid vintage for Château La Lagune.
- Château De Lamarque 93 – 94/100
Clean and intense, the nose reveals notes of blackberries, black berries, plums and fine floral notes. Structured and of a beautiful aromatic complexity, the tannins are round, the acidity is correct which gives a lot of freshness. The end of the mouth is refined and of a good length.
- Château La Tour Carnet 93 – 94/100
A deep purple robe. The nose is precise and reveals elegant notes of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, tobacco and fine floral notes. The attack is clean, supple and of great aromatic depth. Racy, structured, the tannins are supple and supported by a nice tension. A fresh, persistent and remarkably elegant finish.
