3 red samples tasted, as well as 3 whites. So it is difficult to have a tangible expertise on what has been done within the appellation.
For those I had the opportunity to taste, these are successful wines, which will be tasted from an early age with, that said, a nice aging potential.
Here are my tasting comments, by property:
- Château de Chantegrive White 89-90/100
Lively, fresh and expressive, the nose reveals its pretty notes of citrus, fruits with white flesh with subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is taut, with a beautiful aromatic expression. Well balanced. Mineral finish and a correct length.
- Château de Chantegrive Red 89-90/100
Clean and racy nose with notes of black fruits, spices with slight woody notes. On the palate, it is well structured and well balanced. The tannins are ripe, the acidity is fine. Fresh finish and acceptable length.
