Talking about yourself is always a complicated exercise, which is why I chose a quote that illustrates very well my arrival in this environment:
"I entered the world of wine without any other professional training than a certain greed for good bottles."
Colette
My name is Kévin Georget, je suis sapeur-pompier de Paris depuis 9 ans.
Through this site I wish to share with you my tastings, my discoveries, as well as my visits to castles, estates or winegrowers, in the most independent and objective way possible. An informed taster in perpetual quest for discovery, I like to write about my passion for the wine world.
Long seen as a world reserved for insiders or mature people only (yes yes, I have already had this remark as a "young amateur"), I like to think that everyone can develop their critical spirit. It is a universe in full renaissance, which is opening up more and more to young people, who knows how to adapt both to increasingly difficult climatic conditions, but also to the expectations of ever more demanding consumers.
Each tasting will be accompanied by a commentary and a note that will be specific to me. This score out of 100 will give you an idea of the wine tasted and its potential.
Here is my grading scheme:
- Score of 100/100: Extraordinary wine
- Score between 96 to 99/100: Exceptional wine
- Score between 90 and 95/100: Excellent wine
- Score between 86 and 89/100: Very good wine
- Score of 84 or 85/100: Good wine
- Score less than 84: Unsatisfactory wine
A very pronounced penchant for Bordeaux wines, it is important to me to show the revival of this region, which is nevertheless so criticized but oh so rich in diversity.
Needless to say that you will find wines from all regions, why limit yourself to a single region when the world is open to you?
Embark with me on this journey filled with discoveries, visits, tastings, but also, and above all, sharing.
I will end this presentation, as I began it, with a quote that I find very inspiring:
"Do not alienate novices from the knowledge and pleasure of wine by using a vocabulary reserved for insiders only: simply talk about your wines."
Colette
