Located on the left bank, the Saint-Julien appellation is located between the very famous Pauillac in the north and Haut Médoc then Margaux in the south. The boundary is made in particular by the stream of Juillac to the north and further south by the river of the jalle of the north. With an area of 910 hectares, it is characterized by its very large number of classified growths. Indeed, of the 19 properties, 11 are classified within the famous classification of wines of the Médoc established in 1855, which represents 85% of the vineyard.

The soil of Saint-Julien is quite homogeneous, composed of gravel, clay, sand and more exceptionally limestone. The closer you get to the estuary the bigger the bass and the sand soil. The highest point of the appellation is located 23 meters when the lowest is 7 meters above sea level (closest to the Gironde).
The grape varieties allowed are cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, petit verdot, carmenère and malbec.
The wines from this appellation have the reputation of being wines with great charm, character and great aromatic richness.
